betsy bunt, lmsw, rn – psychiatric nurse practitioner intern (supervised by dr. vagdevi meunier, psyd)

Betsy has a MA in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She is also an RN and is currently pursuing a license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from the University of Texas at Austin. Betsy has over 10 years of career experience in mental health including hospital social work, counseling, eating disorder treatment, and mental health curriculum development. She is also a certified yoga instructor. Her areas of special interest include supporting couples in developing effective and compassionate communication skills, navigating grief and loss,  establishing mind-body connection through yoga and breathwork, and equipping individuals with tools to navigate depression and anxiety. By combining her background of social work, nursing, and yoga, Betsy offers a holistic approach and strives to create a therapeutic space where clients feel safe, seen, and valued.

For those who are navigating a difficult time, Betsy recommends the book “When Things Fall Apart” by Pema Chodron. Another of her favorite books is Victor Frankl’s “Man’s Search for Meaning” which focuses on ways to create meaning regardless of life’s circumstance.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Betsy enjoys practicing yoga, hiking, and baking desserts. An important part of her life is her B.F.F. (Best Feline Friend) Owen who may occasionally make an appearance in therapy sessions.
