JANELLE BARRERA, BS

GRADUATE COUNSELING INTERN

supervised by dr. vagdevi meunier, psyd

My name is Janelle, and I am a graduate student working on my license to counsel. I spent some time in Bogota, Colombia, where I had the opportunity to participate by learning about the culture, listening, and serving alongside a psychologist as she guided and led people to freedom in their way. I saw how she would give them activities and homework as singles, youth, couples, or families. This experience pushed me to want to study and learn; it lit a fire inside me to grow and be part of a community of people assisting others in this way. At The Center for Relationships, I hope to learn and grow daily.
I am looking forward to making long-term connections with everyone on board, as this step and location are truly the start of my career process. I can't wait to take the next step and become more familiar with our local community, serving and providing in all ways I can while learning in every way possible.
I appreciate the small things in life because they are way bigger than they seem. I enjoy learning and growing with all those around me. I love to travel and enjoy spending quality time with my family and good company. I enjoy good food, and I'm not picky. I enjoy going for a good hike when it's not 100 degrees, going paddleboarding, or taking a nice walk. I'm eager to complete my education. I am considering continuing education, which is part of my thought process.
